 One of the highlights of this year’s BioPort Atlantic program is our keynote speaker G. Steven Burrill, who will present during the luncheon. So who is G. Steven Burrill?
Steve Burrill is Chief Executive Officer of Burrill & Company, a San Francisco based life sciences investment firm focused exclusively on companies involved in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, devices, human healthcare and related medical technologies, healthcare delivery, nutraceuticals and wellness, agricultural biotechnology, industrial biotechnology (biomaterials/bioprocesses), and biofuels. Burrill and Co. has almost $1 billion under management in its various funds.
Mr. Burrill has been involved personally in the growth and prosperity of the biotechnology industry for over 40 years. An early pioneer, he is one of the industry’s original architects and one of its most avid and sustained developers.
It was in 1992, during his tenure with Ernst & Young, that Mr. Burrill first visited Nova Scotia to deliver a report on the potential of the life sciences industry in Nova Scotia. Now he returns, as an internationally recognized spokesman for industry, to speak about where it is today, and where it is going.
